PAIR OF ONTARIO MEN FINED FOR ILLEGAL DEER HUNTING SWITCHEROO
In a quiet rural corner of West Grey, Ontario, two men from Durham found themselves in legal trouble after orchestrating a deceptive hunting scheme that ultimately backfired on the would-be poachers.
On December 4th of last year, a conservation officer encountered the pair exiting a rural property, uncovering a plot to conceal an illegal deer hunt. The encounter began when one man, armed with a muzzleloading firearm, claimed he had just shot an antlerless deer and presented a valid antlerless deer tag. The officer, acting on a hunch, then asked the men to take him to the deceased animal where the officer later discovered a loaded centerfire rifle hidden inside a hunting blindā¦

Zin days before he was mauled to death | Facebook
𤳠Fatal selfie attempt claims the life of Italian tourist after stopping to feed the bears. An Italian tourist by the name of Omar Farang Zin, was mauled to death by a brown bear last week, in Romaniaās Carpathian Mountains. Zin, a motorcycle enthusiast, had stopped next to a sign explicitly warning tourists not to feed bears and did just that. Despite the explicit warnings, reports indicated the 49-year-old man got off his bike and offered food to a bear, which then attacked him, dragging him down a steep ravine with a 262-foot drop. Emergency services were alerted by other tourists, but unfortunately Zin was already deceased when rescuers arrived, his body battered from the confrontation and fall despite wearing a helmet and protective gear. Authorities later recovered his phone, which contained photos and videos of bears, including a selfie with a cub taken the day before, which was also posted on Facebook.
Serving as home to the European Unionās largest population of brown bears, Romania has been wrought with incidents as of late. Overpopulation, combined with bears losing their fear of humans due to improper food disposal and tourist touron behavior, has led to an increased in attacks. Just last year, Romania doubled its annual bear culling quota in an attempt to better manage the population, while facing pushback from environmentalists arguing that culling only serves to promote trophy hunting. Despite the opposition, the fact remains that the country is home to somewhere between 10,000 and 13,000 brown bears, but according to experts, only has the carrying capacity for about 4,000 bruins. The bear involved in Zinās attack was later shot dead, after attacking members from the Arges County Mountain Rescue Service.
š Rodeo Bull Escapes in Snowmass Village, Enjoys Five-Day Colorado Adventure. Just two days ahead of Independence Day, a young rodeo bull, named "Sauce Boss" or "Twinkle Toes" (no one is sure), escaped from the Snowmass Rodeo grounds in Snowmass Village, Colorado. The 3-year-old bull slipped through temporary fencing while being unloaded, wandering into the nearby Horse Ranch subdivision, a residential area surrounded by mountains and forests. Local authorities issued a public safety alert, and cowboys on horseback, aided by drones, searched for the bull, which at the time, was last officially sighted on July 3 about 1.3 miles from the rodeo grounds. Deemed non-threatening and adept at hiding in thick brush, the bull evaded capture for days, grazing comfortably in the wild.
After five days of freedom, the bull was recaptured by cowboys who led it back to the rodeo grounds, despite a brief escape during heavy rain. The incident, which occurred during a festive time with drone shows replacing fireworks due to fire restrictions, sparked amusement among residents, with locals celebrating the bullās "Independence Day" adventure. No injuries or significant disruptions were reported, and the bull, who is believed to be in his first rodeo (go figure), is set to compete in the next event tomorrow.
THOUGHTS FROM THE STAND // FROM OUR NOTEPAD
I donāt necessarily have a problem with Bezos dropping $50 mill on a wedding. The dude figured out how to get virtually anything I want on my doorstep within 24 hours. Enjoy your billions, sir.
The problem I do have is that a lot of people will believe that is what love/marriage looks like. And it isnāt.

WANDERINGS // A SFW GLIMPSE OF OUR BROWSER HISTORY
For me, when I hear the word heist, Iām instantly transported back in time to some conjuring of an Al Capone-type robbery. But the truth is, these kind of robberies still take place today including The Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist that happened back in 2011-2012 and involved the theft of $18 million of maple syrup. As a Canadian living in Florida, I have had the unique opportunity to experience āfeels-likeā temperatures in both hot and (very) cold climates. In my home and native land, we just called it the wind chill, but down in these parts, itās known as the heat index. For those of you who have not really experienced either, hereās what they mean. A time capsule that was buried 50 years ago was finally uncovered and opened in Nebraska. The contents included one heart-felt note that brought one man to his knees. And in a world that can sometimes seem hellbent on removing any semblance of joy (especially if you hang out on social media/news channels), we all must remember to embrace it. Joy and happiness are two very different things and no matter what this world throws at us, we must always reach for the former.
