IS 30 DAYS A LITTLE LIGHT?
MAINE MAN FACES JAIL TIME AND FINES FOR POACHING SPREE

A Maine man accused of more than 60 hunting violations is finally facing the music after reaching a plea deal. Charged with almost 50 misdemeanors and over a dozen civil violations, 51-year-old Benjamin Hamor, of Mount Desert, is fixing to spend 30 days in jail and get out his check book to pay some hefty fines for his wrong doing.

According to officials, the majority of Hamor’s crimes took place on Maine’s Mount Desert Island - an area strictly off limits to hunting. Given the close proximity to Acadia National Park, federal law prohibits hunting which has led to an overabundance of deer on the island, which has become a magnet for those looking to skirt the rules.

While Hamor is not the first and likely won’t be the last poacher to try his hand at chasing whitetails on the island, he is the latest to get caught…

WTF // NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY

OK, this really isn’t WTF, because it’s pretty damn obvious what happened here.

Either way, it’s an incredible find of a very unfortunate incident. According to the post, an ice fisherman came across this poor fella in Hancock County, Maine. The buck was frozen about 70 feet from shore in about 3-4 feet of water.

What a miserable way to go…

Kind of rude not to let him in when you think about it…

WANDERINGS // A SFW GLIMPSE OF OUR BROWSER HISTORY

Ever wonder what the states would look like if they were resized based on population? Ya, me neither, but here we are. There’s a small private island nestled along the Homosassa River in Florida that’s decorated with a makeshift lighthouse, a swing and rope course, a tree house and a gang of mischievous monkeys put there to keep them out of trouble on the mainland. Contrary to popular belief, the modern donut wasn’t crafted by some culinary genius at Dunkin’ or Krispy Kreme - it was perfected by a Maine ship captain who decided to punch a hole in a regular ol’ donut back in 1847. Now, I fancy myself something of a whiskey connoisseur, especially when it comes to the Canadian varieties, despite them being hard to find here in the US. But I was completely unaware that these cask-strength spirits require specific bottle designs.
