IDIOT 🤦
ALASKA MAN CITED AFTER HARASSING MOOSE IN ONLINE VIDEO

As phones continue to get smarter, we tend to, well, get dumber.

This fact was on display last month as an Alaska man went the way of anyone doing something stupid these days – by filming himself in the act.

Rolling along the iced-over Yukon River on his four-wheeler, the accused came upon a calf moose and promptly whipped out his phone to capture the moment. Rather than slowing down and letting the animal get ahead, he leaned on the throttle, looking to see just what both the moose and his atv were capable of.

While both were sure-footed, the moose ultimately slipped on the ice and looked to have been POSSIBLY injured, but certainly distressed...

🪳 Tick tockAfter years of declining populations and increases in winter tick infections, Maine moose are finally on the rebound. Using collars to track winter movements of Maine moose across 11 seasons, biologists are convinced that this year's young moose stand a chance at survival. With a milder winter and lower tick loads, Maine's mighty moose just might be on the rebound.

😺 The bobcat and the governor: Looking to establish a bobcat hunting season in the Hoosier State, Indiana's controversial bobcat bill is set to hit the governor's desk. With booming populations and no natural predators, the house voted in favor of the bill on Tuesday by a margin of 65 to 26. Despite the overwhelming support, Sen. Scott Baldwin and the DNR are still facing opposition, you know, from crazy cat-types.

🐻 Da bears: Bear hunting in Pennsylvania is, once again, alive and well. with nearly 3,000 bears hitting the ground last fall. While there were slightly more bears taken in 2022, the six-hundred-pound monsters truly stole the show this year. According to the state's Game Commission, there were some 'tremendous specimens' shot last fall, including six bears that tipped the scales at over 600 pounds.

🦌 Invasive deer?: According to Wyoming's Senate President, whitetail deer are a non-native species and should be treated as such. Referring to the deer as a 'noxious weed', Sen. Driskill wants to see whitetail deer managed separately from the state's coveted mule deer populations. While there is some agreement on specific management practices, there is a lot of opposition regarding the fact that whitetail are a non-native species to the Cowboy State. Local hunters fear that breaking up the state's popular general deer tag, could result in unnecessary hunting competition in certain areas.

FLORIDA TRIO NAILED FOR POACHING FIVE DEER FROM PAVED ROADS

A trio from Escambia County in Florida’s panhandle are facing a slew of charges after authorities followed up on an anonymous tip earlier this month.

A homeowner alerted Florida’s FWC after hearing a gunshot near their home and finding a wounded buck in a nearby ditch. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene where they found the 8-point buck with a large exit wound and received the description of the vehicle, its occupants and the tag number.

Officers then proceeded to open the case against the accused Amber Nicole Aceto and Timothy Tyler Moore, both of Pensacola, and Brendan Christian Bell, of Century.  Moore was forthcoming with information and admitted to shooting the buck from his vehicle when he noticed it standing in the roadway.

According to FWC, his girlfriend, Aceto, then drove up to the deer and Bell helped him drag the wounded animal into a ditch before the three of them fled the scene.

As the investigation continued, it was soon revealed that the poaching trio was involved with another poaching incident the week prior..
