We’re hopeful that each and every one of you had a wonderful (and safe) long weekend celebrating America. We also trust that all of you will join us in prayer for all of those affected by the deadly floods in Texas - what an unbelievable situation.
As the first day back after the long weekend, we’ve got something of an abbreviated version of the newsletter this morning. As we and many others are easing our way back into our routines, we expect to be back at full steam by tomorrow morning.

Kootenay woman upset by deer cull sues realtor for 'misleading' her about neighbourhood: An Invermere woman who attempted to sue her real estate agent because she didn't like her neighbours or the fact that the town was culling deer has been ordered to pay special costs because of her behaviour over the seven years of litigation. Chronic Wasting Disease Continues Spread in Pennsylvania Deer: Chronic wasting disease has surfaced in another area of northeastern Pennsylvania, months after the first confirmation of the disease in the region. The most recent case — a red deer from a deer farm in Wayne County — was confirmed by a USDA this spring after it was submitted for testing on Jan. 20. Read the full story.
Birdfeeder stuck on deer’s antlers in Ohio: There is a deer near Dollar General that has a tray style birdfeeder stuck on one of its antlers. We have attempted to approach the deer to help get the item off of its antlers however, it runs away. It does not appear to be in any pain and we witnessed it frolicking with its family and eating normally. Read the full story.

Man attacked by grizzly bear in remote area of northern B.C.: A man is recovering after being scratched and bitten by a mother grizzly bear in a remote area of northern B.C. The Conservation Officer Service reported the incident on social media Sunday. Read the full story.
Air rifles for big game hunting? New Pennsylvania bill proposes legalization: House Bill 1538, introduced June 2 by state Rep. Gary Day, R-Lehigh, would add large-caliber air rifles to the list of legal weapons allowed for taking game such as deer, bear and elk in the commonwealth. Read the full story.
